| Can the batter come back? | Yes, "not out" | No |
| Does it use a ball? | No | No |
Retire a batter
Tap ⋯ at the top right. The Match menu opens.
Tap Retire batter. The Retire Batter sheet opens. Retired Hurt is already chosen.
Retired out? Tap Retired Out instead.
Under WHO IS RETIRING HURT? (or WHO IS RETIRING?), tap Striker or Non-striker.
Under NEXT BATSMAN, tap Select next batter…. Then tap the new batter.
Tap Record Wicket. The new batter is at the crease.
You can also tap OUT → More → Retired Hurt or Retired Out. It opens the same choices.
Bring a retired hurt batter back
Wait until a batter is out, or tap a batter's row to change it.
In the batter list, tap the retired hurt batter's name. They come back with their runs, as "not out".
Common problems
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| I can't tap Record Wicket | Choose the next batter first. Retired hurt always needs a new batter. |
| I retired the wrong batter as hurt | Choose that batter again in the batter list. They come back "not out". |
| I tapped Retired Out by mistake | It can't be undone. Fix the wicket count with ⋯ → Edit score. See How to fix mistakes. |
| "Select both batters first" | Choose the striker and the non-striker, then try again. |
